The “Cornice” bag is the result of a dialogue between our creative director and one of the most esteemed wood craftsmen. Carved entirely by hand from a single block of Walnut wood, “Cornice” takes 10 to 16 days to complete. We designed it to be worn purely as a sculptural clutch.
Each piece is unique in its organic yet structured shape; striking a fine line between art and object.

Wood carving has probably been around for about as long as men have been upon the earth. Over the centuries wood carving has undergone many changes yet the craft still remains vibrant in our current day.
In 1860, eleven wooden panels were found preserved under the sands for over 4000 years. Wood was not plentiful in Egypt and the Acacia and the Sycamore were the only trees growing suitable for carving. These trees were relatively scarce, and therefore considered sacred.
